Two new companies offering direct-to-consumer personal genome services have announced their intentions to enter the fray, according to this Houston Chronicle article. DNA sequencing company SeqWright and one of the biggest ancestry DNA companies, Family Tree DNA, are planning to launch products that will analyze DNA for genes associated with disease, similar to services offered by 23andMe and deCODEme, writes Blaine Bettinger of The Genetic Genealogist.
